Contact

Ideas welcome. Money is not, yet.

The center is in the planning phase. Nothing is built yet. The most useful thing right now is to hear what people would want, and who might help. Please do not send payments, and do not offer donated land, equipment or services: nothing is ready to receive them.

Who we would love to hear from

What we would like to hear, once contact opens.

  • Curious neighbors and families

What would make you come back? What would your kids want to try?

  • Teachers and educators

What would fit your curriculum and your school-trip budget?

  • Scientists and engineers

Would you review content, give a talk, or help with robots and data?

  • Museums, libraries and venues

Would you consider hosting a small temporary exhibit or a pop-up program?

  • Watershed and community groups

How could the center support what you already do, without duplicating it?

  • Accessibility advisors

What should be built in from the start?

  • Would-be volunteers

What would you like to help with? No volunteer roles exist yet; the Take part page shows how each would work. Volunteers would add to paid staff, never replace them, and anyone working with children would first need Pennsylvania's child-protection clearances.Source: PA DHS, Volunteers having contact with children: frequently asked questions (23 August 2024)

How to reach us

Contact is not open yet; no address has been set. There is no form and no mailing list, so nothing about you is collected.

About Aethon, the data and mapping partner

Partner: Aethon, the ocean data, mapping and exploration company founded by the plan's author. Aethon supplies the maps and data; the center does public education.

Aethon does not fund, own, operate or approve the center, and the center is not an Aethon facility. It is in the planning phase, with nothing built yet.

The same person founded Aethon and is planning this center. That is a conflict of interest. A future board would manage it with a conflict-of-interest policy, an independent board majority and arm's-length written agreements.
